Tooling from China can vary massively depending on the usage, if tooling is for export the materials and finishes will exactly match or exceed those used in the UK at a fraction of the cost.

If however the tooling is for production within China the materials will be to the standard required for production in China, this however does not mean that the tool will be of no use or not correct or accurate, but will mean regular maintenance and possibly repair is required if the tool is used for large production runs, this cost is borne by the moulding/pressing company and they will maintain the tool to the level required for production and to maintain accurate components. The initial purchase cost of the tooling is a fraction of the UK or 'export' tooling cost and will provide a large number of components before replacement is required (typically 300,000 to 500,000 components) at which point the replacement is often made by the moulding/pressing company!

• Export Grade Injection Mould Tooling:- Materials and components of a standard used within the UK, sample components delivered for tool approval (prior to tool shipment), full set of spares delivered with tool, full set of drawings and material certificates / heat treatment records supplied upon completion.
• Export Grade Press Tooling:- Materials and components of a standard used within the UK, sample components delivered for tool approval (prior to tool shipment), full set of spares delivered with tool, full set of drawings and material certificates / heat treatment records supplied upon completion.
• China use Injection Mould Tooling:- Materials and components of a standard used within China, sample components delivered for tool approval (prior to component order), tool maintenance and repair carried out by supplier (unless tool failure caused by change of product material specification / overuse). Component orders to be placed through MPA for the life of the tool, tool ownership remains with the buyer.
• China use Press Tooling:- Materials and components of a standard used within China, sample components delivered for tool approval (prior to component order), tool maintenance and repair carried out by supplier (unless tool failure caused by change of product material specification / overuse). Component orders to be placed through MPA for the life of the tool, tool ownership remains with the buyer.
